For the equipment planning portion of this project, W5 Design coordinated the identification, specification and placement of more than 400 pieces of equipment in this complex building. The design architect provided a “broad brush” of equipment only and it was W5 Design’s responsibility to fine tune equipment needs to a much more detailed level so that everything would be in place and operational for the first day of classes. Adding to the complexity of this project was the fact that the clinical spaces are extremely diverse. Not only were classrooms equipped, but animal housing areas, animal research labs, human medical simulation labs ranging from outpatient to critical care and student teaching labs as well.
