As part of the Mother-Baby Unit renovation, the Well Baby Nursery needed a finish makeover. The problem with the space is that all the walls were taken up with either equipment, windows or doors. There was no surface to add any design elements to.
While looking for solutions, Ann proposed the idea to add images to the only available surface – the window shades. And wanting to use a Cincinnati based theme, she proposed using iconic Cincinnati artist, Charley Harper animal images. Working closely with Designtex, who is licensed to use Harper images, 9 animals were selected from one of Harper’s ceramic tile art installations.
As a bonus, Charley's son, Brett was born at Good Samaritan Hospital and gave his blessing to the project.
