Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Hospital will offer advanced medical technologies, high-performance facility design and unprecedented levels of patient-centered care. A village concept theme reinforces the Cleveland Clinic's desire to establish a new sense of community at this Middle Eastern location. The program consisted of a 20-story diagnostic and testing building, 7-story administration building, 8-story clinic building and double-height connector gallery containing retail spaces and patient services. The challenge of integrating western medical care with middle-eastern culture and aesthetics while creating buildings that performed to harsh desert climates provided the design team opportunities to push the boundaries of modern medicine and design.
